An Exclusive Program to Improve Your Hockey Skills in the off-season

The Fuel hockey program is for high-level players aged 13 to 15 to develop the leadership and hockey skills needed to advance to the next level.

Prepared Players Reach the Next Level

Just because it’s off-season doesn’t mean hockey growth stops. High-level players know the off-season is the ideal time to develop the skills needed to make the team.

SHOOTING

Players work on mobility, technique, and shot speed, so they become accurate shooters.

SPEED

Overspeed, efficiency, power, and edgework, help our players become faster on the ice.

STRENGTH

Proper conditioning at this age builds faster, more stable, and stronger players with fewer injuries.

Now is a Critical Time for Player  Development

Looking back, you’ve invested a lot of time and energy into your hockey player’s development. From hiring shooting coaches to skating coaches, you’ve done everything you can to support your child.

So far, everything has worked, but now your player is at an age and development level where ad hoc or as-needed training efforts will not accelerate their development. In fact, it may hinder it, causing them to feel left behind or that they may not make the team.

It was at this age when my training shifted from working with individual skill coaches to participating in a more comprehensive program like Fuel. The Fuel program accelerated my development into a higher-level player, and I believe it’s the reason I was able to play professionally.

What Makes the Fuel Program Different?

Your hockey player is entering a stage in their development, where being good at “one thing” will only take them so far. There are fewer teams available, and coaches become more selective. Fuel is a comprehensive program that pulls together all of the necessary hockey skills needed to become the well-rounded player, coaches need on their team.

SPEED

Your player will have the opportunity to work with the best speed training coaches available.

SHOOTING

Players participate in specifically tailored small group sessions with the best coaches in the city.

STRENGTH

Our coaches help our players become stronger and faster using proper weight lifting techniques.

STRIDE

Proper stride helps players have more time with the puck so they can make plays and score more goals.

CONDITIONING

Players work on stamina to become as good at the end of the game as they are at the beginning.

MENTAL PREP

At Popovic Hockey, we work with our players to develop the confidence and mindset of high-level players.

And Much More…

What Our Parents are Saying

As a youth hockey parent, I want a coach who is a great role model for my child and a high-quality hockey instruction coach as well. Coach Mark exceeds that bar. When your hockey player tells you they can’t wait to see their Coach, because their Coach really listens to them & doesn’t just tell them what to do, that builds a lot of confidence as a parent. There are a lot of coaches who have a lot of experience in hockey. Unfortunately, many of them have my way or the highway approach to coaching. We know because we have tried a lot of other coaches, and we will always work with coach Mark as often as we can because my player is better for it!
- Nathan

Our kiddo is obsessed with hockey and can get very serious and self-critical when having a tough game… or when bumping up to higher levels of play. Mark understands this and has been so supportive, helping us and our young athlete keep everything in perspective. It’s essential to have layers of support during these developmental years as a young athlete and Mark is an essential part of that equation for our family.
- Shari

What will my player learn during the Fuel program?

At this level, players face different challenges then they have in the past. Unfortunately, most hockey programs for this age group continue to focus on basic skills rather than focusing on the growth of the player.

Having observed the challenges many elite players face when they reach this level, Fuel has one goal: make your player faster, stronger, and mentally prepared for the challenges ahead.

Fuel is NOT another skills camp. It’s an ice hockey training program for the next generation of players.

If your player is going to chase their dream, they need to prepare wisely. Our players launch from Fuel physically and mentally prepared for the next level, because they train like they are already there.
